We started our adventure with a climb up Hanging Rock, those views were something else! Then it was off to explore the old goldfields, where we got a feel for the history and soaked up the peaceful beauty of the bush. We ended the day with a glass of wine and some nibbles, taking it all in.  After a healthy breakfast, the following morning we laced up our boots for a 5 km walk through the stunning Hepburn Springs and Dry Diggings trails. Perfect weather made it even better. We explored the historic Burke and Wills Mechanics Institute in Fryerstown, then treated ourselves with a fun visit to a local chocolatier, yum!  The next day started with a laugh when Julie’s walking pole went for a swim and Gerard came to the rescue. From there, we hiked the Three Lost Children’s Walk, Sawpit Gully, and up Mount Franklin, finishing at Hepburn Spa to try the fresh spring water. Later, we relaxed over Devonshire tea and got creative making our own bath salts. Such a fun and fulfilling day.  Our last day began with a peaceful walk around Daylesford Lake, followed by a visit to the gorgeous Convent Gallery. Trentham Falls was more of a trickle, but still lovely. After lunch, we squeezed in one final treat, coffee and cakes at our favourite Macedon café, before saying our goodbyes.

What a fabulous trip! Beautiful landscapes, rich history, great food, and even better company. Feeling refreshed, inspired, and so grateful for the memories we’ve made together.
