Day One - Saturday 9 February 2019
Melbourne - Violet Town - Benalla - Yarrawonga
Welcome to our 2 Day Markets & Silos of North Eastern Victoria. Meet at our designated departure point in Melbourne at 8.30am. Here we'll travel to Violet Town in the Goulburn Valley home to one of the best country Victorian markets. We'll spend some time browsing the 230 plus stalls with the opportunity to fill your sisterhood shopping bag with all sorts of goodies. Lunch can be enjoyed at the market with an array of tasty delights on offer before we continue onto Yarrawonga via Benalla. Benalla is a lovely country town featuring some of Victoria's best Street Wall Art. We'll do a drive through the town spotting many of the talented artist drawings. We'll then continue onto Yarrawonga where we'll check into our hotel, with time to relax before dinner. Yarrawonga, known as the Sun Country on the Murray is aptly named as the Mighty Murray River forms the border between Victoria and New South Wales. Bring your bathers in case the weather is hot! Our hotel has a pool so a perfect way to cool off before dinner tonight at a local restaurant.

Day Two - Sunday 10 February 2019
Yarrawonga - Tungamah - Devenish - Goorambat - Melbourne (L)
Today we'll enjoy breakfast downtown with time to browse the many shops along the main street of Yarrawonga before a visit to Rich River Olive Oil including their farmgate store offering you plenty of opportunity to fill your Sisterhood Shopping bag with some deliciously fresh locally made produce. We'll then continue on to visit the Byramine homestead which was built in 1842 by the famous explorer Hamilton Hume for his sister-in-law, Elizabeth Hume and her nine children after her husband was murdered by Bushrangers, in Gunning NSW. The Homestead was classified by the National Trust because of its unique design, featuring octagonal rooms. A beautiful garden was established around the homestead, the Elm trees planted by Elizabeth are the oldest in Victoria. The homestead was originally nestled within the Yarrawonga Run, a station that was 85,000 acres of sheep and beef. Today it is surrounded by one of the largest vegetable farms in Australia. We'll enjoy a light lunch before heading off on guided our Silo Tour. We'll learn the stories behind the murals including the Tungamah Silos which feature Brolgas and Kookaburras and a short distance away the Devenish Silos with their impressive Nurses on display. The final silos we'll be visiting will be at Goorambat where the Country Scene and the Barking Owls depicted will amaze before finally visiting the nearby Goorambat Uniting Church to view the stunning wall art by famous Adnate who's work also adorn many of the walls in Benalla. Spectacular and amazing that in this tiny little hamlet such amazing art can be found.
After our silo viewing and photo opportunities, we'll head back to Melbourne arriving around 7pm.
