Itinerary

Day 1 - Thursday 2 February 2017

Melbourne to King Island (L,D)

Welcome to Sisterhood Womens Travel.  This morning meet your tour hostess at the designated meeting point at Melbourne airport for our short flight to King Island.  Upon arrival we'll be met and transferred to enjoy a lovely home style lunch using the local produce of King Island.  This afternoon we'll see the world famous Huxley Hill wind farm, Kelp Industries and King Island Art & Craft.  We'll visit Currie, one of the two towns in King Island visiting the wharf to view fishing boats and to see the famous King Island crayfish.  We'll enjoy an afternoon tea with time to purchase sea sand stone 'food for our skin'!  A visit to the musuem with time to climb the Currie Lighthouse before arriving at our accommodation.  The Boomerang by the Sea - the perfect tranquil getaway.  Framed by rugged coastline and awe-inspiring sunsets.  Tonight we'll enjoy a delicious crayfish or King Island beef buffet dinner.  

Day 2 - Friday 3 February 2017

King Island Sightseeing (CB,L,HT,D)

This morning after breakfast, we'll take the scenic route to the quaint romantic village of Naracoopa, viewing along the way an abundance of bird life where you can spot in their natural habitat.  Flocks of wild turkey, ducks, peacocks, black swans and ring necked pheasants.  Plenty of photo opportunities before enjoying a light lunch at Bert's Cafe before heading off to enjoy an afternoon of pampering complete with a memorable High Tea at Bischoff Cafe in a relaxed garden setting.  Dinner tonight back in Currie at the Harbour Road Cafe with the best view in town!

Day 3 - Saturday 4 February 2017

King Island Sightseeing (CB,L,D)

After breakfast we'll enjoy a visit to King Island's world famous Cape Wickham Golf Course.  Modelled on Barnbougle Dunes in the North East of Tasmania offering high class design, accommodation, fine dining, not to mention the views.  Continuing onto Penny's Lagoon; one of three suspended fresh water lakes in the world, to enjoy a swim or bush walk before a delicious chicken and champagne lunch.  This afternoon we'll visit the famous King Island Dairy 'Fromagerie' where you will have the opportunity to taste and purchase a variety of award winning cheeses.  Tonight we'll enjoy a farewell dinner and music. 

Day 4 - Sunday 5 February 2017

King Island - Melbourne (CB)

After breakfast we'll check out of our accommodation and travel down to Grassy Harbour.  This quaint seaside village nestled on the west coast of King Island once a booming mining town of a population of up to 1000 is home to a small group of businesses including the Kelp craft, which creates craft from dried Bull Kelp, Marie's Cafe and a visit to Portside Art Gallery for some last minute souvenir shopping before heading to the the King Island Airport for our flight home.  Arriving back into Melbourne just after 1pm.  Thank you for joining us for our latest mini break and we look forward to welcoming you back for your next adventure.
