Day 1 - Saturday 19 August 2017

Melbourne - Venice (Meals Inflight)

Welcome to Sisterhood Womens Travel!  Meet with your Sisterhood Tour Hostess Denise Moore and fellow travellers at the Melbourne Airport for your flight to Venice or in Dubai for our Sydney and Brisbane travellers.  Sit back, relax and enjoy the inflight entertainament of your airline as you make your way towards Venice.

Day 2 - Sunday 20 August 2017

Welcome to Venice

Welcome to Italy and the beautiful city of Venice! You will be met upon arrival into Venice and transferred to your accommodation.  Your Sisterhood hostess will meet you for dinner tonight.  3 Nights Accommodation - Hotel Canelletto including Breakfast.

Day 3 - Monday 21 August 2017

Venice Sightseeing (B)

This morning after breakfast (8.45am) you'll enjoy a walking tour of Venice, a perfect way to get to know Venice, both as a must-do introductory city tour as well as for anyone interested in the city's history. After meeting our expert guide near St Mark's Square, you'll take a leisurely stroll through the streets of Venice, learning about its colorful past through its most characteristic and iconic attractions along with its lesser-known sites. We'll explore the area around Piazza San Marco and Rialto Bridge, learn about the top attractions and stop for photos in front of Venice's cultural centerpieces such as Teatro la Fenice, Scala del Bovolo and Rialto Bridge.  Your tour goes for 1.5 hours with the remainder of the morning and afternoon free before regrouping to enjoy a 'must do' gondala ride at 5pm where you'll enjoy a 35-minute ride through the famous Grand Canal (Salute area) as well as the smaller canals around the neighborhood of Fenice. As you glide along the Grand Canal, the chance to marvel at the glamorous bank-side palaces and churches and hear tales about how it became Venice's most important thoroughfare.  Tonight dinner at a local restaurant tonight.

Day 4 - Tuesday 22 August 2017

Murano, Burano, Torcello Sightseeing (B)

After breakfast your half day tour starts at 9.15am with a short ride to Murano by boat. Famed for its stunning Murano glass products, the cluster of little islands that comprise Murano are as popular for their glassmaking heritage as they are for their attractiveness.

With your friendly local guide, you'll head straight to a glassblower's workshop for an authentic, behind-the-scenes look at a Murano glassmaker in action. You'll have time to spend at leisure on Murano – a great opportunity to browse the workshop's impressive glass art collection or simply explore ony our own.  Next you'll head to the neighboring island of Burano, with its vibrantly colored fishermen's houses that line the streets. Just as Murano is famous for its glassmaking, Burano is famous for its lacemaking. You'll visit a local workplace to see the island's craftswomen at work. Almost exclusively made by women, Burano lace is the finished product of a painstakingly precise textile craft. As you watch, your guide will talk about the history of this exquisite Venetian lace and explain how the handcrafted finery is sadly becoming a dying art. Finally you'll continue to Trocello, the earliest centre of civilisation in the estaury, to see the Cathedral and the church of Sana Fosca.  Our tour will be 3.5 hours long so afterwards a free afternoon and dinner at eisure tonight or with your group at a local restaurant.
 

Day 5 - Wednesday 23 August 2017

Venice - Florence (B)

After breakfast this morning you'll transfer to the rail station and continue your travels to Florence.  Upon your arrival you'll be transferred to your accommodation with the remainder of the day free to start our exploring of this charming city.  With it's mesmerising artistic and architectural heritage, Florence is a beautiful city to visit. Wander the medieval streets, cross the famous Ponte Vecchio or climb to the top of the Duomo for breathtaking views of the city.  Tonight dinner at leisure or with you group at a local restaurant. 3 Nights Florence - Hotel Alba including breakfast

Day 6 - Thursday 24 August 2017

Florence Sightseeing (B)

A morning free to get your Florence bearings.  This afternoon you'll enjoy our "Heart of Florence Walking Tour".  Thanks to the patronage of painters, sculptors and architects between the 14th and 17th centuries, the city's piazzas and streets boast some of the world's greatest Renaissance artistic and architectural masterpieces.  You'll wander through Piazza della Signoria and admire the Palazzo Vecchio and replica statue of Michelangelo's David that dominate the square.  Marvel at the outside of Florence Duomo, crowned by Brunelleschi's dome, and take in the sight of Giotto's Bell Tower and the Baptistery with its ornate, bronze 'Gates of Paradise' doors.  Dinner at leisure tonight or with your group at a local restaurant.

Day 7 - Friday 25 August 2017

Free Day in Florence (B)

A free day to take the time to discover more of the Florence Charm.  Shop along the Ponte Vecchio for souvenirs and handicrafts, or visit the Uffizi Gallery home to famous artists including Botticelli, Michalangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, Raffaello and more.  You are free to 'buddy up' with someone with the same interests and enjoy your day. Dinner at leisure tonight or with your group at a local restaurant.

For those ladies who have booked the Day in Tuscany here is your itinerary:

Depart at 8.00am from Piazza Adua, central Florence
Bar Reale, inside Santa Maria Novella Train Station
(Follow platform 16 to the grassy area with palm trees)

Take a guided tour through Siena including a visit to the Siena Cathedral
Tuck into three typical Tuscan dishes and sample two or three wines during lunch at a winery or local restaurant
Wander around the charming hilltop village of San Gimignano
Get a look at the iconic UNESCO-listed Leaning Tower of Pisa while exploring Pisa independently
Travel on a comfortable, air-conditioned coach in the company of a tour escort  

This tour is a full 14 hours so please ensure you wear comfortable walking shoes, hat, sunscreen and drink plenty of water. 



 

Day 8 - Saturday 26 August 2017

Florence to Rome (B)

Today you'll farewell Florence, be transferred to the station for your 2nd class rail journey to Rome.  Sit back and enjoy the scenery of the rolling hills of Tuscany.  You'll pass by the ancient town of San Gimiginano and the walled city of Siena.  Arriving into Rome you'll transfer to your accommodation with the remainder of the day at leisure, regrouping for dinner tonight with the other Sisterhood group!  3 Nights Accommodation - Hotel Colonna Palace including breakfast

Train Time:  Depart Florence at 11.08am / Arrive Rome at 12.40pm

Day 9 - Sunday 27 August 2017

Rome Sightseeing (B)

Today a free day to to utilise your 48 hour Hop on Hop off bus pass, a great way to see the city. From the Trevi Fountain to the Colosseum, Rome's abundant sights rival those of any other city.  Hop on and off any stop for amazing photo opportunities and to learn the history of days gone by.  Tonight meet for dinner to talk about the day's experiences.

Day 10 - Monday 28 August 2017

Free Day in Rome (B)

Today another chance to get lost in Rome!  You can continue to sightsee with your Hop on Hop off pass.  You might like to visit your favourite gallery or throw a coin in the Trevi Fountain.  The choice is yours on how you will spend your day and your tour hostess will be happy to point you in the right direction.  Tonight let's get both groups together to farewell Denise and the European Rivers girls as they spend their last night in Rome.

Day 11 - Tuesday 29 August 2017

Rome - Amalfi Coast - Positano (B)

This morning after breakfast you'll be joined by Hayley as you are privately transferred to the beautiful seaside resort town of Positano on the Amalfi Coast where you will spend 4 nights exploring and relaxing in style. Dinner at leisure tonight.

Day 12 - Wednesday 30 August 2017

Day Tour to Isle of Capri (B)

Today you'll enjoy a full day boat trip to the discover the beauty of the Amalfi Coast adn the evocative islandof Capri.  From the Amalfi Coast sail west towards Capri passing Positano and the magical Li Galli Islands.  We'll stop for a swin with an optional visit to the Blue Grotto and free time in the town of Capri, a very cosmopolitan and chic town with shops, hotels and restaurants lying along winding streets.  Stroll the cobbled streets and soak up the atmosphere.  Dinner at leisure tonight.

Day 13 - Thursday 31 August 2017

Free Day in Positano (B)

A free day to swim, relax, read a book in paradise or people watch in the .  You might even like to treat yourself to a 'made to measure' pair of sandals!  Walk along Spiaggia Grande and or mingle with the locals at Formillo Beach.  A beautiful way to spend the day!

Day 14 - Friday 1 September 2017

Free Day in Positano (B)

Another day in Paradise.  Enjoy the freedom to explore, relax and soak up your surrounds as you spend your last day in one of the most beautiful areas of Italy.

A farewell dinner tonight to celebrate memorable moments with new friends.

Day 15 - Saturday 2 September 2017

Positano - Rome (B)

This morning an early start as you make your way to Rome airport by private transfer from Positano for your mid afternoon flight to Melbourne.  Sit back relax and reflect on great times spent with friends as you enjoy the inflight hospitality of your airlines.  In Dubai our Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne travellers will go their respective ways.
