Notice

This tour requires a basic level of fitness. As a minimum you will need to be able to walk 2km on uneven ground, carry your own luggage and walk up a few flights of stairs. Itinerary

Day 1 - Saturday 9 September 2017

Melbourne/Singapore (Meals Inflight)

Join our Sisterhood Tour Hostess and fellow travellers at Melbourne Airport for our flight to Rome via Singapore.  Sit back, relax and enjoy the company of new friends and the inflight hospitability of Singapore Airlines.

 

Day 2 - Sunday 10 September 2017

Rome (D)

Upon our arrival into Rome, we’ll be met by our tour manager and tansferred to the hotel. The remainder of our day is at leisure to settle into our hotel with a welcome dinner to enjoy tonight. Hotel - Marcella Royal Hotel (or similar).
 

Day 3 - Monday 11 September 2017

Rome (B,D)

This morning we'll enjoy a half day city tour of Rome taking in the main sights of the city including Via Veneto, Piazza della Republica, Via Nazionale, Palazzo della Esposozioni, the world famous Trevi Fountain, Via del Corso, visit to the Pantheon, Piazza Navona and the impressive Colosseum.  With an afternoon free to continue to explore and dinner at a local restaurant, today will be a fabulous day.

Day 4 - Tuesday 12 September 2017

Rome (B,D)

This morning we’ll enjoy a guided tour of the Vatican taking in the Vatican museum and the Sistine chapel where headsets will be included for us.  Afterwards a short tour of St. Peters Basilica before returning to our hotel for another free afternoon.  We’ll regroup for dinner this evening at our hotel or a nearby restaurant.

Day 5 - Wednesday 13 September 2017

Rome/Portovenere (B,D)

This morning we depart Rome and head north to the quaint seaside village of Portovenere on the coast next to the famous Cinque Terre. A beautiful place to spend the day with dinner will be at our hotel or a local restaurant. Hotel - Royal Sporting Hotel (or similar).

Day 6 - Thursday 14 September 2017

Cinque Terre/Monterosso/Milan (B,D)

Today we’ll enjoy a cruise to Riomaggiore and the chance to walk on the famous Via del’Amore (path of love) – this is flat, well paved and not too far – but still worth the short stroll.  We’ll then continue with a cruise along the coast past the Cinque Terre villages to Monterosso, where we’ll walk to the train station and board the train to La Spezia where our coach will meet us and transfer us to Milan.   Dinner tonight will be in the hotel or at a local restaurant. Hotel - Starhotel Rosa Grand (or similar).

Day 7 - Friday 15 September 2017

Milan/Sirmione/Venice Island (B,D)

This morning we’ll enjoy a morning city tour with a local guide taking in the sights of Milan, including the cathedral, the galleria and the castle.  This afternoon a long drive to Venice Island with a stop at Sirmione to take in the wonderful view over Lake Garda.   We’ll continue to Venice Island where a private boat will transfer us to our hotel – there may still be some walking, but porters will take our bags to our hotel.  Tonight we’ll enjoy a must do gondala ride to soak up the beautiful sights of Venice.  Dinner tonight is included. Hotel - Ca Dei Conti Hotel (or similar)

Day 8 - Saturday 16 September 2017

Venice Island (B,D)

This morning we’ll enjoy a walking tour of San Marco Island with a local guide and take in the main sights including Piazza San Marco, the Doges Palace and Cathedral. No visit to Venice would be complete without a must do gondala ride.  Enjoy the waterways of Venice and relax, enjoying your surrounds.  With free time afterwards to continue to discover Venice, we'll regroup for dinner tonight at a local restaurant.  Dinner tonight will be at a local restaurant. 

Day 9 - Sunday 17 September 2017

Venice Island/Florence (B,D)

This morning we travel to Florence to visit the famous Accademia to see Michelangelo’s David (the real one). We'll enjoy a walking tour of Florence with a local guide including the historical centre, Duomo, Baptistery gates, Plazzo Vecchio, Medici Palace and Tombs, Ponte Vecchio, Piazza Santa Maria Novello. We will then hop on the coach up to Piazza Michelangelo to take in the view across the top of the historical town. We then stop in Vinci at the one time home of Leonardo da Vinci.  Dinner at our hotel or local restaurant.  Hotel - C-Hotels Diplomat (or similar)
 

Day 10 - Monday 18 September 2017

San Gimignano/Florence (B,D)

This morning we will travel by coach to San Gimignano for a walking tour of this ‘Medieval Manhattan’ before a stop at a vineyard for a tour and tasting session. We will continue to Pisa  to see the famous leaning tower and then to Lucca for a walking tour of the historic centre. Walk on the vast encirclng city walls, Puccini's birthplace (stop to view only), the pretty church of San Michele, Piazza Napoleone and nearby Piazza del Giglio and the Romanesque cathedral.  Take in Via Fillungo, the most prestigious shopping street with its medieval buildings and towers, including Torre Guinigi. Finish at the Piazza Anfiteatro, a miniture colisseum. Return to Florence for dinner in a local restaurant or at the hotel. 

Day 11 - Tuesday 19 September 2017

Chianti/Civitavecchia/Cruise (B,D)

This morning we drive south to Civitavecchia cruise terminal for our 9 night Eastern Mediterranean Cruise onboard the Royal Caribbean's 'Jewel of The Seas'. Our accommodation will be a Balcony cabins, Category D1. Embark cruise ship in time for departure at 5.00pm. Jewel of the Seas, a dazzling Radiance-class ship, with 16 bars, 3 pools including the Solarium, an adults only retreat. We are going to love, love, love our next 9 nights.  During our cruise in addition to enjoying the many fantastic onboard facilities and activities that are included in our cruise price, we will have the option to enjoy optional onshore excursions.  These will be made available to you at the time of booking to assist with your budget and Sisterhood Central will be happy to assist with your excursion planning. A fabulous way to make the most of our port experiences or you may choose to just discover each port at leisure.

Day 12 - Wednesday 20 September 2017

Sicily (Messina), Italy (B,L,D)

Arrive into Messina this morning just a few miles from mainland Italy, Messina has served as a gateway to the island of Sicily since antiquity. Over the centuries, the city has been influenced by foreign invaders and powers, and its arcgitecture is a mix of old and new. The ship will depart at 5:00pm this evening.

Day 13 - Thursday 21 September 2017

At Sea (B,L,D)

Spend today at sea enjoying the facilities on the "Jewel of the Seas". If you fancy some rest and relaxation, the VitalitySM Spa has an extensive treatment menu and a thermal suite.  3 whirlpools, state-of-the-art Fitness centre with classes including yoga and pilates.

Day 14 - Friday 22 September 2017

Mykonos, Greece (B,L,D)

An early arrival into Mykonos this morning with a full day to explore.  In the deep blue waters of the Mediterranean, Mykonos has countless bays and beaches and its quaint cobblestone streets are bound to welcome any visitor. According to Greek mythology, it was here that Hercules slew the Giants; the large rocks that are scattered about the island are said to be their petrified corpses. True or not, you'll have to judge for yourself. Either way, the Island of Mykonos should not be missed. Please make sure you are back onboard for a 5:00pm departure.

Day 15 - Saturday 23 September 2017

Rhodes, Greece (B,L,D)

This morning we arrive in Rhodes. The atmospheric Old Town of Rhodes is a maze of cobbled streets that will spirit you back to the days of the Byzantine Empire and beyond. With a full day in port to enjoy!

Day 16 - Sunday 24 September 2017

Santorini, Greece (B,L,D)

Black-sand beaches, crystal-clear waters and whitewashed villages that cling to volcanic cliffs make the island of Santorini a wonder to behold. Many visitors come to Santorini to uncover the mysteries of the lost kingdom of Atlantis, while others revel in its relaxed mountaintop atmosphere to enjoy the scenic waters of the Mediterranean.

Day 17 - Monday 25 September 2017

Athens (Piraeus), Greece (B,L,D)

Piraeus is the main port Athens, the biggest in Greece, and one of the most important in the Mediterranean Sea. Piraeus is walking distance from Kastella, a hill strewn with beautiful houses that offers a majestic view of the Saroic Gulf. Other points of interest include an archeological museum and a Mikrolimano, where you can enjoy an ouzo accompanied by seafood mezedes.


 

Day 18 - Tuesday 26 September 2017

At Sea (B,L,D)

Spend the day enjoying the facilities onboard the Jewel of The Seas. There is complimentary Broadway-style entertainment in the Main Theatre, a Vegas-style casnio, 16 bars, clubs and lounges . Dutyfree shops onboard featuring name brand jewellery, perfumes, apparel and more.

Day 19 - Wednesday 27 September 2017

Naples, Italy (B,L,D)

Naples is not only picturesque, it's also one of the world's greatest cultural centres, filled with extraordinary works of art and architecture in the classical Greek and Roman styles. Several interesting tours are available of the city itself and the fascinating places that lie just outside of Naples.

On arrival in Naples we will be taken on a full day tour of Pompeii. Drive south to Pompeii and meet the specialist guide for the tour of the archaeological site. Enjoy a traditional pizza lunch then visit the Naples Archaelogical Museum before returning to the ship at 4:00pm

Day 20 - Thursday 28 September 2017

Rome (B,D)

We’ll arrive back into Civitavecchia early morning and be transferred to our Rome accommodation.  With the remainder of the day free to do some last minute shopping or exploring we'll enjoy a farewell dinner at a local restaurant tonight to celebrate a wonderful experience shared with friends. Hotel - Marcella Royal Hotel (or similar).

Day 21 - Friday 29 September 2017

Farewell Rome (B)

This morning it's Arriverderci Roma!  We'll check out after breakfast and transfer to the Rome airport for our flight to Singapore.

Day 22 - Saturday 30 September 2017

Singapore (Meals Inflight)

Upon our arrival into Singapore Airport we’ll transfer to our accommodation where if our rooms are not available we’ll be able to store our luggage and begin our exploration of Singapore.  With a choice of some fantastic sightseeing activities to enjoy included today is the day to make the most of our Singapore stopover.  Hotel - Peninsula Excelsior (or similar).

Day 23 - Sunday 1 October 2017

Singapore (B)

We wil check out of the hotel mid morning and store our luggae with the hotel Concierge. Today is at leisure to explore Singapore or any last minute shopping. This evening we will be transferred to the airport for the return flight to Melbourne.
