Day 1 - Monday 6 May 2019

Melbourne - Kenya (Meals Inflight)

Welcome to Sisterhood Womens Travel!  Meet your Sisterhood Tour Hostess and fellow travellers at the Melbourne Airport for your flight to Kenya.  Sit back, relax and enjoy the inflight entertainment of our airlines as we head towards Nairobi.  JAMBO - KARIBU!! 

Upon our arrival into Kenya we'll be warmly met upon our arrival with a traditional, unique & special welcome (bubbly, wet towels and presentation of authentic safari hat and a beautiful authentic canvas pouch filled with safari essentials).  Check in to our hotel in time for a good nights sleep!

Day 2 - Tuesday 7 May 2019

Nairobi Sightseeing (B,D)

Today we'll enjoy a city tour of Nairobi including a visit to Daphne Sheldricks Wildlife Trust organisation, the most successful oprhan-elephant rescue and rehabilitation program in the world, Karen Blixen Museum (Out of Africa) and the Giraffe Centre dedicated to saving the endangered Rothschild Giraffe. Return to your hotel, time to freshen up, then dinner tonight will be hosted by our supplier and served in a beautiful local family home.

Day 3 - Wednesday 8 May 2019

Nairobi - Lake Nakuru National Park (B,L,D)

This morning we'll drive to Lake Nakuru with a brief stop at the Rift valley view point. We arrive at the lodge to a very warm welcome, check-in then lunch. This afternoon we depart on a game viewing. Some of the interesting places to visit include the baboon cliff, the lion hill and the Mau escarpment. The park is one of the best game viewing parks with various animal species including prides of lion, Cape buffalo, waterbucks, wart hogs, the endangered Rothschild giraffes, the black & white Rhino, the Burchell’s zebra, impalas, and the elusive leopard among many others. Over 300 bird species have been recorded here too. Lake Nakuru National Park is one of the best places to see the endangered black and white Rhino. Enjoy dinner and overnight at our Lodge.

Day 4 - Thursday 9 May 2019

Tipilikwani Mara Camp, Maasai Mara (B,L,D)

This morning after breakfsat we'll for the Maasai Mara National Reserve offering wonderful scenery and plenty of game. It is perhaps the only region left in Kenya where the visitor may see animals in the same super-abundance as existed a century ago. We'll arrive at our Lodge in time for lunch and check in.  Afterwards we'll enjoy our afternoon game viewing drive in this vast and expansive reserve teeming with game. Be on the look-out for the famous big five; the most sought after in the early 20th century, when Kenya was a hunters' paradise. These include the lion, Cape buffalo, the savannah elephant, black rhino and the elusive leopard.The vast savannah grasslands stretch as far as the eye can see is home to impalas, maasai giraffes,waterbucks, warthogs,thompson & grant's gazelles,topis, the resident wildebeests among many others. Today we have also arranged a visit to a local Masai Mara School which promises to be a memorable experience.  Tonight dinner and overnight at our Lodge

Day 5 - Friday 10 May 2019

Game Viewing in the Maasai Mara (B,L,D)

Enjoy breakfast then another day enjoying game viewing drives and more adventure. Game drives offer the unforgettable opportunity to enjoy the diversity of animals and birds living permanently in the Maasai Mara.  Today you might like to enjoy an optional Hot Air Balloon Safari.  Tonight we'll regroup for dinner and chat about the day's experiences.

Day 6 - Saturday 11 May 2019

Lake Victoria (B,L,D)

This morning we'll enjoy a hearty breakfast before departing with picnic lunch boxes via the Isebania & Sirari border where our guide will help us through the immigration procedures to continue into Tanzania.  We'll proceed to Serenity Lake Eco Luxury Reosrt on the shores of Lake Victoria for dinner and overnight.

Day 7 - Sunday 12 May 2019

The Serengeti (B,L,D)

This morning after breakfast we'll depart with picnic lunch boxes as we continue into Tanzania.  Covering an area of 14,763 square kilometres, the world famous Serengeti National Park is Tanzania's oldest park, and one of the world's last great wildlife refuges. The Serengeti ecosystem supports the greatest remaining concentration of plains game in Africa, including more than three million large mammals. We arrive at our lodge for check-in, dinner and overnight.

Day 8 - Monday 13 May 2019

The Serengeti (B,L,D)

This morning after breakfast, we depart with picnic lunch boxes for a full day of game viewing drives on the vast Serengeti plains. In the early morning and evening light, the Serengeti landscape is stunningly beautiful. The Rolling plains and grasslands, stretching far into the horizons as far as the eye can see is home to the black-manned lion, the savannah elephant, the Cape buffalo, wildebeests, the elusive leopard,cheetah,the spotted and stripped hyena, the rhino,topi,burchelle’s zebra, the Masai giraffe among many others. Serengeti National Park is one that can never disappoint. We'll be spoilt by the variety of bird and wildlife species we'll see.  Dinner tonight at our Lodge.

Day 9 - Tuesday 14 May 2019

Ngorongoro Crater (B,L,D)

After breakfast, we depart for Ngorongoro. We'll stop at the Oldupai Gorge, one of the most important prehistoric sites in the world to learn on human evolution. We will enjoy an on-site talk on the interpretation of the gorge by the resident guide. We arrive at our crater rim lodge to a warm welcome, check-in then lunch. This afternoon we'll take a crater rim walk in Ngorongoro. Ngorongoro Crater has the largest unbroken caldera and has been described as one of the great natural wonders of the world. The crater is home to many species of wild game and birds. Almost every species of African plains mammal lives in the crater, including the endangered black rhino, and the densest population of predators in Africa. The birdlife, which includes the flamingo, is mainly seasonal, and is also affected by the ratio of soda to fresh water in Lake Magadi on the crater floor. An amazing day of sightseeing with dinner tonight at our Lodge.

Day 10 - Wednesday 15 May 2019

Ngorongoro Crater Walk (B,L,D)

After breakfast we descend some 610 metres into the crater, which is home to an abundance of wildlife and a photogenic paradise, for a full day of game-viewing drive with picnic lunch. Prides of lions, herds of Cape buffalo, rhino, giraffes, golden & black-backed jackal, zebra, cheetah, leopard and the spotted hyena freely roam on the crater floor plains. Unmatched for its natural variety & breath-taking beauty, there are few places on earth where such a tremendous diversity of landscapes exist inside a region this size. Apart from its wildlife riches, the crater is also of great archaeological importance, with the remains of some of mankind’s earliest ancestors discovered in the area, also a home to hundreds of bird species, refreshing in the small lakes in the crater floor. Return late afternoon to our lodge. Enjoy dinner and overnight.

Day 11 - Thursday 16 May 2019

Tarangire National Park (B,L,D)

This morning, enjoy breakfast before setting off to Tarangire National Park; which of all Tanzania parks boasts of the largest number of savannah elephants. We will be warmly ushered in for check-in, then lunch at our game lodge. This afternoon we depart on a game viewing drive in the vast, wildlife-rich game park. Tarangire is home to wildebeests, zebra, buffalo, impala, gazelle, and hartebeest among many other wildlife species. This park has the greatest concentration of wildlife outside the Serengeti ecosystem - a smorgasbord for predators – and the one place in Tanzania where dry-country antelope such as the stately fringe-eared Oryx and peculiar long-necked gerenuk are regularly observed. The swamps, tinged green year round, are the focus for 550 bird varieties, the most breeding species in one habitat anywhere in the world. On drier ground you may find the Kori bustard, the heaviest flying bird; the stocking-thighed ostrich, the world's largest bird; and small parties of ground hornbills blustering like turkeys. Enjoy dinner and overnight at our Lodge.

Day 12 - Friday 17 May 2019

Amboseli National Park (B,L,D)

Enjoy an early morning breakfast then depart to Amboseli National Park. Stop for Lunch in Arusha at Arusha coffee Lodge visit Shanga to see bead factory this comprises an open workshop for glass-blowing, weaving, sewing, tingtinga painting, bead-making and metal work, as well as a shop. continue to Amboseli via Namanga enroute game viewing drive. Amboseli is home to lions, buffalo, cheetah, giraffe, baboon, gazelle hippo and wildebeest among many others. It is also an ornithological paradise with over 400 species of birds, flora and fauna and some of the most soul-searing views in Africa. Enjoy dinner and overnight at our Lodge.

Day 13 - Saturday 18 May 2019

Amboseli National Park (B,L,D)

Today a full day in Amboseli. Starting with an early morning game drive, we'll return for breakfast with the rest of the morning at leisure.  Some time during the day we'll enjoy a cooking lesson from the hotel showcasing some traditional cuisine to be enjoyed. We'll enjoy lunch and more free time before later in the afternoon heading out for our last game drieve.  With views of the majestic Mt Kilimanjaro as a beautiful backdrop to one of Kenya's most spectacular displays of wildlife - lion, elephant, leopard, rhino, cheetah, buffalo and hosts of plains' game. Let's hope we see all there is to see on our last game drive of the tour!  Tonight we'll return to our Lodge and enjoy a farewell dinner celebrating amazing memories spent with great friends. 

Day 14 - Sunday 19 May 2019

Amboseli - Nairobi - Melbourne (Meals Inflight)

Unbelievable but true, our fantastic bush moments have come to an end. We bid farewell to our wonderful lodge manager and his team then depart for the Nairobi Airport. Not empty handed though. With us are photographs – a capture of the special moments we have had on this tour as a permanet reminder of an amazing experience.  Sit back, relax and enjoy the inflight entertainment of our airlines as we head towards home.

Day 15 - Monday 20 May 2019

Welcome Home!

Welcome Home!  We arrive back into Melbourne in the late evening.  What an amazing time we've all enjoyed.  Thank you for travelling with Sisterhood Womens Travel and we look forward to welcoming you back for your next adventure.
