Itinerary

Day 1 - Friday 4 August 2017

Melbourne - Sydney - Rarotonga (B,D)

Welcome to Sisterhood Womens Travel.  Meet your Tour Hostess and fellow travellers at the Melbourne Airport for your flight to Rarotonga via Sydney.  Due to the International Date Line we'll arrive into the Cook Islands at 7.30am, transfer to our accommodation.  Here we'll be able to check in, freshen up and enjoy breakfast.  Today we'll enjoy an orientation tour of our resort familiarising ourselves with the activities and features available to us throughout our stay.  The remainder of the day is to relax and explore.  Early evening - Welcome Cocktails around the Pool watching the sun set. With dinner tonight at Tamarind House, a lovely eatery owned by former Flame Tree retaurateur and cookbook author Sue Carruthers, housed in a colonial building on the Pacific Ocean foreshore of Tupapa.  A great way to spend our first night in Paradise!

Day 2 - Saturday 5 August 20178

Exploring Rarotonga (B,L,D)

This morning after breakfast we'll enjoy a visit to the Punanga Nui Market at Avatiu. Rarotonga’s Saturday Punanga Nui Market offers a wide range of island gifts and handicrafts, black pearls, pearl shell, jewellery, pareu fabrics, clothing, local music and fresh local produce. It’s a great place to sample homemade delicacies, or just to pass the time meeting and chatting with the locals.  Later this morning we'll see Rarotonga’s historical & scenic sites and visit places of interest for things to see and do during our stay on Rarotonga.  We'll learn all about the growth and cultivation of the famous Cook Island black pearl and enjoy special demonstrations of unique aspects of Cook Island life. Our tour will include a Tropical Lunch and a swim at a beautiful island beach.

A free afternoon with plenty of complimentary activities on offer at The Edgewater Resort & Spa include: snorkelling in the marine reserve filled with tropical fish, hand feeding the reef fish, tennis, guided village and nature walks and much more.  During our stay we are entitled to a 20 min Spa or Poolside Massage.  This can be taken anytime during our stay so enjoy.

On Saturday, resort activities include the following in preparation for ISLAND NGHT; Learn to dance the hula, make an ei, tie a sarong and/or play the ukulele and island drums.  Tonight we'll enjoy an Island Night Feast & Show at the Edgewater Resort & Spa.

Day 3 - Sunday 6 August 2017

Exploring Rarotonga (B,D)

After breakfast this morning we'll visit local a local hostoric Church with morning tea and a tour of some of Rarotonga's Churches. It is often a moving experience as we share in a local Cook Islands Christian Church service and hear a whole congregation filling the beautiful historic limestone and coral church with the soaring harmonies of their hymn singing. The rest of our day is free to relax.  Read a book, go swimming or just take time out for you and enjoy your tropical surrounds.  Tonight we'll enjoy a Sunday BBQ Under the Stars at the Edgewater Resort & Spa with resident band Ru and the Boys.

Day 4 - Monday 7 August 2017

Glass Bottom Boat Beach Day Trip

Pack your bathers today!  We'll enjoy viewing the wonderful marine life in Rarotonga’s lagoons through a glass bottom boat, snorkel with the fish, and then relax with a beach BBQ on an uninhabited motu (islet). An afternoon free with a progressive dinner tonight - a great way to meet and mingle with the locals

Day 5 - Tuesday 8 August 2017

4WD Safari Tour (B,L,D)

This morning after breakfast we'll enjoy a half-day 4WD Raro Mountain Safari Tour with Beach BBQ Lunch. Come on a 4WD Safari and discover the heart of Rarotonga. Learn about life on the island as we climb out-of-the-way tracks, see panoramic vistas and explore the scenic back country roads in your 4WD Jeep with colourful commentary from experienced local guides. Dinner tonight will be at the Spaghetti House Pizzeria & Grill.  What a great day enjoyed in Paradise!

Day 6 - Wednesday 9 August 2017

School Visit, Whale Watching Cruise (B,L,D)

A real treat this morning.  We'll visit of the island's local schools, meeting the students and spending some time with them and enjoy a light refreshment.  Afterwards we'll continue to the Wildlife and Whale Centre to take a look around before enjoying a relaxed Sailing tour around Rarotonga on the "Cantran" for some whale watching including a light lunch.  The cruise will be about 3 hours so if you get a little sea sick it is recommended to take some preventatives prior to embarking.  Tonight we'll enjoy a Island BBQ and Fire Dance Show.

Day 7 - Thursday 10 August 2017

Farewell Cook Islands!

Breakfast today and a free morning for some last minute swimming, snorkelling or massages.  We'll have lunch at our resort before being transferred to the airport to begin our flight home.  Sit back and reminicise about great times shared with new friends.  

Day 8 - Friday 11 August 2017

Sydney

Due to the international date line we'll arrive into Sydney and transfer to the Stamford Plaza Sydney Airport for the night.  

Day 9 - Saturday 12 August 2017

Sydney - Melbourne (B)

After breakfast this morning we'll transfer to the Sydney airport for our flight home to Melbourne.  What an amazing adventure!  Thank you for travelling with Sisterhood Womens Travel and we look forward to welcoming you back.
