Day 2 - Wednesday 16 March 2022

Singapore (B,L)

This morning we will enjoy a Singapore city tour.  Explore the city by driving round the Civic District, passing by the Padang, Singapore Cricket Club, historic Parliament House and the National Gallery Singapore.  The Gallery consists of two national monuments – the former Supreme Court Building and the City Hall.  Next, stop at the Merlion Park and enjoy the impressive views of Marina Bay.  Do not miss out on this photographic opportunity with The Merlion, a mythological creature that is part lion and part fish.  Visit Thian Hock Keng Temple, one of Singapore’s oldest Buddhist-Taoist temples, before driving past Chinatown.  Proceed to Singapore’s first UNESCO World Heritage Site – the Singapore Botanic Gardens and walk through the National Orchid Garden which boasts a sprawling display of 60,000 orchid plants. Let your senses come alive at Little India as you walk past shops along the five-footway offering a variety of exotic fruits, spices, jasmine and orchid garlands.

The afternoon is at leisure.

This evening we will be met and transferred to Clarke Quay for a traditional bumboat cruise down the historic Singapore River.  The guide will engage us in a captivating tale of Singapore’s two famous quays—Boat Quay and Clarke Quay—whilst we take in the scenic views of the Marina Bay area.  The tour ends at Clarke Quay, famous for its stunning waterside restaurants and exciting collection of bars and clubs.  Perhaps a chance to sample one of the many resaturants for dinner (own expense) before making our way back to the hotel.

Day 3 - Thursday 17 March 2022

Singapore (B)

After breakfast we will be collected from the hotel for a 4-hour Gardens by the Bay & Marina Bay Sand’s SkyPark tour.

Begin your discovery of the city’s most popular attractions at Gardens by the Bay. This 101-hectare space of verdant greenery comprises three massive cooled conservatories filled with natural splendour.  Spend time marvelling at the rare flora on display at the Flower Dome, exploring the mist-filled landscape of Cloud Forest, and marvelling at the majesty of the garden’s Supertrees.  Be sure to scale Cloud Mountain for unforgettable views.  Take a stroll along the waterfront to Marina Bay Sands®.  This integrated resort is filled with attractions for the discerning visitors, ranging from sky-high party spots to luxury shopping opportunities.  Visit the Marina Bay Sands SkyPark, an architectural masterpiece sitting on top of the three hotel towers at Marina Bay Sands.  This 1.2 hectare tropical oasis is longer than the Eiffel Tower and is tall and large enough to park four-and-a-half 380 jumbo jets. It extends to form one of the world’s largest public cantilevers.

Includes: Admission to two conservatories and Marina Bay Sand’s SkyPark admission (weather permitting).

The remainder of the day is at leisure.

Day 4 - Friday 18 March 2022

Singapore (B, AT)

This morning we will enjoy a 4-hour wildlife experience.  Start the day at River Safari - Asia’s first and only river-themed wildlife park.  The iconic river habitats are home to over 7,500 aquatic and land animals representing close to 240 species.  Explore the various zones such as the Amazon Flooded Forest, Congo River, or Mekong River to get a glimpse of the wildlife who have made these watery habitats their homes.  Be awed by Manatees and Arapaimas at the world’s largest freshwater aquarium, or sign up for the Manatee Mania tour to get up close to these gentle Sea Cows.  Embark on an unforgettable boat adventure on the Amazon River Quest boat to spot other well-camouflaged and elusive Amazonian wildlife such as Jaguars and Giant Anteaters.  Catch the latest animal presentation – Once Upon a River, to witness the talents of Giant Pelicans, Capybaras and more. You can even linger on after to enjoy a photo encounter with your favourite animal stars.  Don’t forget to visit the giant pandas, Kai Kai and Jia Jia, in the region’s largest giant panda habitat before you leave.

This afternoon we visit the iconic Raffles Hotel to enjoy afternoon tea in the Grand Lobby.

Indulge in a timeless experience in the restored Grand Lobby of the iconic Raffles Singapore.  The grandeur of floor-to-ceiling Victorian pillars, bathed in soft daylight streaming through the skylight.  It is a truly refined and unique destination for refreshments.  Amidst this elegant setting, savour finger sandwiches, house-made scones and cakes and seasonal delicacies.

Day 5 - Saturday 19 March 2022

Singapore, Perankan Delight & Rich Cultures (B)

This morning enjoy a morning at leisure.

In the afternoon we will be collected from the hotel for a 6-hour cultural tour.  With its rainbow-hued heritage shop houses, cool cafes and modern boutiques, Joo Chiat/Katong is one of Singapore’s liveliest districts.  The neighbourhood is famous for being a trove of all things Peranaka, with eateries, shops and architecture bearing the culture’s striking influence.  Spend time in the district of Bras Basah Bugis, a vibrant arts and culture district in the heart of Singapore.  Bargain hunt at Bugis Street, discover and spend a quiet hour or two at Fort Canning Park or the Armenian Church.  The visit has been timed to be in this historic neighbourhood just as the sun sets.  The golden domed Sultan Mosque—Kampong Gelam’s most striking landmark—makes for a beautiful photo opportunity at dusk.  Gregarious travellers will find ample opportunity to socialise by embarking on a bar hop along Haji Lane.  This narrow street is home to a whole range of hip watering holes and buzzing bars.   We will return to the hotel in the early evening.
