Itinerary

Day 1 - Saturday 1 April 2017

Melbourne - Mornington Peninsula (D)

This morning we'll meet at Sisterhood Central to embark on our fabulous where we'll escape the city and see what the beautiful Mornington Peninsula has to offer.  Our first stop this morning will be the famous Red Hill Markets near Dromana.  Red Hill is where it all started for Craft Markets Australia over 40 years ago. From a handful of stalls in 1975, this market is now one of the most popular in Victoria with over 300 stalls all selling home made, hand crafted products and fresh, home grown produce.  We'll have the chance to soak in the exceptional atmosphere and regenerate our senses at this delightful market. A proven feast for the mind, body and soul. We'll explore the fascinating mix of textures, materials and colours on display with the opportunity to meet the maker behind each of the individually designed products. After our time here we'll continue onto Dromana for a visit to beautiful Heronswood Homestead where we'll have time to enjoy a lazy lunch and a look around this amazing place.  The buildings of Heronswood were classified by the National Trust in 1973.  We'll have time to wander the gardens before continuing on to Arthur's Seat for a ride on the newly opened Eagle Skylift a state of the art gondola which saws above the trees.  10 years in the making and over $20 million spent we'll enjoy amazing views of golden beaches, Mornington and Belarine Peninsulas and the City of Melbourne across the Bay.  We continue onto Fingal home to the stunning Peninsula Hot Springs, the first natural thermal mineral springs bathing and day spa facility in Victoria. Two main facilities provide relaxation experiences for everyone and we'll be visiting the Bath House bathing area.  With over 20 globally inspired bathing experiences, welcome to a world of wellbeing, relaxation and fun.  The best time to experience the Bath House is at night time so after checking into our accommodation and enjoying a light dinner we'll travel to the Hot Springs to enjoy.  A magical experience at night with fairy lights leading us to each of the pools. (Bring your own towel to save money).

Day 2 - Sunday 2 April 2017

Fingal - Sorrento - Queenscliff (B,L)

Today after breakfast and check out we'll travel to Sorrento for some free time.  Sorrento is a popular tourist destination on the Mornington Peninsula, nestled between Portsea and Blairgowrie. It is situated on a thin strip of the Mornington Peninsula, facing Port Phillip in the north and the open waters of Bass Strait in the south.  Sorrento's shops are to die for!  There are a wide range of boutique shops and cafes to explore and enjoy before we regroup to catch the ferry from Sorrento to Queenscliff.  A pleasant 40 min cruise to the Bellarine Peninsula.  Queenscliff is surrounded on three sides by water, giving the town large stretches of coastline, consisting of a combination of sandy beaches, rocky outcrops, cliffs and historic piers. At Shortlands Bluff is the Queenscliff Lighthouse which was built in 1862 and includes a lookout near the base. Further north along the coast is the Black Lighthouse, unique in Australia, having been constructed from bluestone.  We'll have time to wander the main shopping precinct before enjoying lunch at the historical Vue Grand Hotel. Afterwards we head towards home arriving back into Sisterhood Central late afternoon.  Thank you for travelling with Sisterhood Womens Travel and we look forward to welcoming you back for your next adventure.
