Tantalising Tasmania Tour

Arriving into Launceston, we made a short trip to the quaint town of Evandale, where we had some time to take in the beauty of the historic buildings, a little retail therapy at the Lake Leather shop and wander the town local markets before heading to Woolmer’s estate which is a 19th Century once working farm with beautiful Rose gardens and although it was raining, some of the ladies were able to wander around these beautiful gardens after a heaty lunch of Soup and damper before making our way to Launceston via Cataract Gorge where we had a Chairlift ride, walked the Suspension bridge taking in the beautiful gardens full of peacocks.

Over the next couple of days travelling North West, we took in the countryside visiting the seahorse farm where we learnt about these amazing creatures, tasted fabulous wines, cheeses, wandered cute quaint seaside towns, sent some money contributing to the Tassie economy before taking in the beauty of Cradle Mountain National Park and Strahan Village on the banks of Macquarie Harbour & the UNESCO Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area, here we cruised the Gordon River, had a guided tour of Sarah Island home to a convict settlement and watched the entertaining “The Ship that Never was” Play.

Spending a few nights in Hobart gave the group some time to wander the famous Salamanca Markets, take in the unique museum – Mona or just wander the harbour front and try the fabulous fresh Seafood on offer.

Grate views from Mount Wellington (we were so lucky with the weather)

We visited the wonderful Crawleighwood Gardens not too far from Hobart, we could have easily had longer here before making our way to the Historic Site of Port Arthur via Richmond which has Australia’s Oldest bridge.

Last couple of days had us heading up the East Coast of Tasmania visiting the geological wonder of the Tasman Arch & Devils Kitchen

Our Visit to Freycinet National Park wasn’t a great as we wanted due to weather which meant we couldn’t get into wineglass bay and a few of the ladies falling to “seasickness “on our cruise.

Last couple of days had us heading up the East Coast of Tasmania staying in Orford and Scamander & visiting the geological wonder of the Tasman Arch & Devils Kitchen, Bay of Fires before farewelling Tassie to head back home.

The group had a fabulous time sampling lots of local produce and taking the unique sites and wonders of this truly beautiful state.
