As a group of 18 sisters, there was no chance of us 'sneaking' about once we arrived in Sydney and began exploring the delights of Darling Harbour and the beautiful Sofitel Hotel Darling Harbour. Location, location, location combined with warm, bright days and evolving new friendships - these were the keys to the success of this wonderful 4-day getaway!

Upon arriving in Sydney on Thursday early afternoon, we had time to stroll from our hotel to the Chinese Gardens of Friendship. The moment we entered, a soothing calm and tranquility enveloped us all. A lovely way to unwind after the flight.

Restaurants, shops, the replica of the Endeavour and Paddy's markets were all within an easy walk from our hotel and over the next few days, many of the sisters ventured out on morning or late afternoon walks to explore the surrounds. Each evening we ate together at a local restaurant, Blackbird Cafe being a particular delight.

The Blue Mountains was a destination we would have liked more time to explore, as we realised the extent of the breath-taking scenery across to the Three Sisters and the surrounding views from Echo Point. The town of Leura was not only pretty but also fabulous for shopping and it was surprising how much was purchased by the ladies in a short amount of time. Our lunch stop at the Boiler Room of the Majestic Hotel allowed time for more connection between the ladies, flowing conversation whilst enjoying a two course meal.

For the Sydney first timers in our group, Saturday was a real highlight with a morning visit to The Rocks markets with time to stroll over to Circular Quay to take in the iconic views of the Opera House. This experience was elevated even further when we boarded Captain Cook's Sydney Harbour Cruise, complete with a delightful High Tea to finish the day beautifully.

To perfectly round off the weekend, we gathered for the end-of-year lunch at Little Felix, sharing great conversation with several of the Sydney sisters. The food was nothing short of incredible.

So many treats within these 4 days but perhaps most special for me as the hostess was witnessing the connections, easy conversation and laughter between the women, many of whom knew no-one else when the embarked on this getaway. Here's to new friendships!
