Ten ladies Travelled on the Singapore Fling for an unforgettable week and we experienced a vibrant tropical metropolis with a fascinating history and a growing reputation for innovation, Singapore is a fantastic destination. This pint-sized country really packs a punch when it comes to food, heritage, shopping and tours. Our Accommodation was in the heart of the action making walking around seamless, options are almost endless in this lively metropolis,
But there was far more to Singapore than the skyscrapers of the CBD. Our journey began with a Half Day Singapore City tour next, we saw the Merlion Park and the impressive Marina Bay area. We got to explore the region’s natural beauty, Singapore’s first UNESCO World Heritage site the acclaimed Singapore Botanic Garden — undoubtedly one of the world’s most beautiful — and the National Orchid Garden which boasts a sprawling display of 60,000 orchid plants. Our guide advised there are more tree’s than humans in Singapore and currently there are 8 million trees.
We went aboard the Singapore River Bumboat, in the early evening the sunset was beautiful and the waters calming. We saw Boat Quay and Clarke Quay and took in the scenic views of the Marina Bay area as many boats cruised by. We ate a delicious Japanese dinner at Clarke Quay an amazing nighttime stop. Later we went to Novo Singapore’s highest rooftop bar, this was a sky-high experience with panoramic city views and city lights.
Beauty abounds in the Gardens. Beyond the flora and fauna that you’ll find here, we admired the Gardens’ iconic structures – architectural marvels that reimagine nature with artistic finesse It is no wonder that Gardens by the Bay in Singapore is among the top 3 attractions in the world. The Super tree light show, the mesmerizing Rhapsody set against a backdrop of towering Super trees, lights and music enabling a futuristic vertical garden. An amazing experience.
More nature, the Incredible Birds of Paradise tour a cutting-edge wildlife park that has transformed the legacy of Jurong Bird Park into an immersive wonderland. This magnificent bird paradise is home to 3,500 birds representing 400 species from around the globe.
We were so excited to go to the famous Raffles Hotel, all dressed up we arrived and saw a magnificent atrium naturally illuminated by its soaring skylights, the Grand Lobby is where the refined ritual of traditional Afternoon Tea unfolds every day. Delicious sandwiches cake and tea were served.
Who could go past the Long Bar and the famous Singapore Sling, a delicious expensive cocktail, where peanuts are thrown on the floor. Great vibe and Historic bar
For a sense of Singapore’s rich heritage, cool cafés and modern boutiques, it is all happening at Joo Chiat/Katong Singapore’s liveliest districts. The neighbourhood is famous for being a trove for all things Peranakan, it has eateries shops and architecture bearing striking influence. Fort Canning Park, the golden domed Sultan Mosque, Haji Lane is buzzing with bars food and life.
Despite Singapore’s fabulous shopping scene which is as buzzy as ever, with boutiques galore it was a Foodies feast treat. We dined at Newton Square Food eatery to taste local cuisine many carry Michelin star certification. We also dined at ultra-chic Pan Pacific Garden Bar followed by their Western restaurant.
We saw the Crowne Jewel at Changi Airport and the Butterfly Park
Our tour was nothing short of amazing. E very moment felt vibrant and unforgettable. The city’s blend of modernity and warmth, flavourful culture and a foods paradise. A very friendly nation made every day feel like special
