Once again, a Rosa mini break has been blessed with perfect weather. The Alpine 4-day tour took our sisterhood travellers through some of Victoria’s most beautiful townships and magnificent countryside views, stretching across mountains, valleys, and rivers, accompanied by the beautiful singing voices from all the ladies onboard.
Saturday morning began with the vibrance of Violet town markets, highlighting over 200 stalls of locally produced food, wine, clothing, and some great live music. Two weeks later, and we are still commenting on the most amazing lunch at Brown Brothers in Milawa. The food, presentation, location, and atmosphere were stunning, and we will definitely be returning.
We checked into the historical town of Beechworth, where much of the town is protected by a heritage overlay. We stayed for one night and experienced stories about the gold rush days, beautiful hotels dating back to the 1800’s, and a great local tour hosted by a deeply knowledgeable young man who very much resembled Ned Kelly. The feedback from the ladies is that they enjoyed this town so much that they want to stop here for 2 nights next time. We are on to it!
Beautiful bright welcomed us with amazing hospitality hosted by Emma and Neil at the Riverview Motel. Our immaculate rooms overlooked the stunning Ovens River where we picnicked during our free Monday afternoon. There was plenty of local shopping, visits to local produce stores, clear blue skies, and so much food! Our journey ended with a visit to Benalla, another town with protective heritage overlays to preserve the history. Fast becoming recognised as Australia's leading street art destination, Benalla hosts an incredible variety of street art murals created by street artists at the top of their game from around the world.
An amazing 4-day break with amazing sisterhood company.
