Walking the Queen Charlotte Track was absolutely spectacular. Every step seemed to open up another incredible view of coastline, native bush, culminating in that peaceful feeling you only get when you’re surrounded by nature. We loved learning about the ecosystem, how every plant works together with the environment to support and protect each other. It really made us see the landscape in a unique way.
The abundance of food along the journey was amazing and exceeded all expectations. Everything was fresh, beautifully prepared, and a real highlight after a day of walking, sightseeing and exploring. We stayed in some gorgeous accommodation, which made the whole experience feel even more special, such a treat to relax and take it all in at the end of each day.
What made the trip even more meaningful was everything we learned beyond the scenery gaining insight into the culture of the Māori people was incredibly special, and it added so much depth to the experience. We also explored New Zealand’s history, including learning about the Gallipoli Campaign and the role of the ANZAC forces which was both moving and fascinating.
The Wēta Workshop, which was such a fun and interesting experience, getting a behind the scenes to look at how some of those incredible films are brought to life.
This Kiwi adventure was so much more than just a holiday. It brought Sisters together who formed great bonds by discovering, as a group, that New Zealand offers a really special mix of nature, culture, history, with indulgence thrown in there too. This trip is truly something we will be talking about for a long time.
