Cruisin’ Sisters
With a call out to book this Pacific cruise within 24 hours, six sisters jumped at the special eight night deal.
From the minute they met at the airport, bonds were forming in true Sisterhood fashion. Once on board the Carnival Pacific Encounter the camaraderie continued whether over a game of Trivia, enjoying the variety of entertainment or of course, over the occasional cocktail. Well to be honest, with four days at sea, they were more than occasional. And did I mention the food? The biggest challenge of all was disciplining ourselves to not overeat. We really enjoyed being waited on over leisurely breakfasts and dinners, but lunches were much more restrained to appease our collective consciences….and waistlines.
And we did actually do some sightseeing: Noumea and Lifou on New Caledonia, and Mystery Island, Vanuatu. Most enjoyed half day tours that familiarised us with their religious traditions, and their relaxed island lifestyles in such beautiful tropical surroundings. The turquoise beaches are very popular for snorkelling, although only one sister actually got wet…….congratulations Nola.
As for The Voice of the Ocean-I hope it kept the sisters amused whilst searching for shoes for me. I know I had a ball especially with the ‘toy boy’ judge, Ben!
Alison, Francis, Gloria, Margaret, Nola and Wendy, I thank you for making this trip a memorable one. It is the friendships formed that really make SWT the success that it is.
