Our tour will start at 11.15am, please arrive 5-10 mins before.

Notice - Our tour requires a basic level of fitness. The pace of the walking tour is relaxed. Over three hours we walk about 2 kilometres (1.2 miles). There are two or three opportunities to sit down during the tour, but guests need to be able to stand for periods of time. Some of the pathways we follow are narrow and/or cobbled and there are stairs and inclines to navigate.

Yayoi Kusama is one of the world’s most celebrated living artists. Her polka-dotted pumpkin and flower sculptures are recognised globally, and her infinity mirror rooms are pivotal to the twenty-first century’s turn towards art as an immersive experience.

Yayoi Kusama explores Kusama’s unique worldview, starting with artwork created during her childhood and culminating with works made this year. In between, Kusama’s extraordinary career is surveyed, from her experimental years in postwar Japan to her contributions to New York’s avant-garde scene in the 1960s, through to her return to Japan in 1973 and subsequent re-emergence as an artist of international renown.

Comprising close to 200 works, this is the largest exhibition of Kusama’s work presented in Australia and one of the most comprehensive retrospectives of the artist ever presented globally. Featuring painting, sculpture, collage, fashion, film and installation, the exhibition reveals the astonishing breadth of Kusama’s multidisciplinary practice.

Yayoi Kusama will be displayed across the entire ground floor of NGV International and extend into NGV’s public spaces and the surrounding Melbourne Arts Precinct including NGV’s iconic Waterwall, Great Hall, and Federation Court.

A major highlight of the exhibition will be an impressive assembly of Kusama’s iconic immersive installations, including her infinity mirror rooms that ingeniously use mirrors to create the visual illusion of infinite space. One of these, titled Infinity Mirrored Room–My Heart is Filled to the Brim with Sparkling Light, 2024, makes its global premiere in Melbourne.

Although Kusama has experimented with many media and forms of expression, her underlying motivation for making art has remained the same. She seeks to convey the complex beauty of the natural world, and to explore her (and by extension, our) place within an infinitely expanding universe.

Yayoi Kusama is an immersive exhibition with high sensory experiences including immersive rooms and corridors, heavy patterning, and mirrors.

We'll then continue onto Cloudehill Gardens, a stunning cool climate garden spread over 5 acres. From formal clipped hedges and topiary to the comparatively relaxed bulb meadows.  Afterwards, we'll enjoy lunch at Cloudehill in their onsite restaurant Seasons (1 main & 1 cake included in tour cost). This exhibition marks the 90th anniversary of The Australian Women's Weekly and looks back on the inspiring women who have been a part of the magazine's history. Re live the changing eras of fashion and style bought to life on the pages of The Weekly, and the creativity it inspired through cooking, dressmaking, interior design, and crafts. Follow the courageus wartime stories of mothers, partners, and sisters of our soldiers during  WW11, the Korean, and Vietnam wars, and see how history unfolded and times progressed in the lives of Australian women.

We will depart from Melbourne at 8.30am from the Rosa pickup point at the corner of Spencer and Lonsdale St, and stop for a morning tea break at the delightful award winning Harcourt General Store Cafe. Coffee/tea and a light snack is included. Most of the delicious food has been made onsite with fresh local produce. The drive from Harcourt to Bendigo is 30 minutes and includes a 15 minute stop at Bendigo's beautiful Sacred Heart Cathedral. The Gothic style cathedral is Australia's third largest, and the internal and external architecute is an impressive sight.

Just a few minutes away and we will arrive at the historical Bendigo Art Gallery, located in the vibrant View Street precinct. This is our major destination! The Australian Women's Weekly 90 year exhibition and celebration. The exhibition honours the contributions from trailblazing women who have made The Weekly a magazine for women, by women, from the very beginning. The magazine has always offered a window into the global fashion stage, and the exhibition presents a selection of garments by leading Australian designers, and worn by notable and inspiring Australian women on the many covers of The Weekly. Flip through editions from the 50's and 60's to see women's views on current affairs, fashion, cooking, homemaking, motherhood, and romance, together with cake displays from the ingenious Australian Women's Weekly Birthday Cake Book, still going strong after 43 years.

Lunch will be in Borchelli located on cosmopolitan View St, directly opposite the art gallery. After lunch we'll take a leisurely stroll through the beautiful gardens in stunning Rosalind Park, rich in gold rush history, before we return to our coach and head back to Melbourne. We expect to be back in Melbourne at the corner of Spencer and Lonsdale St at 6.30pm.

Overnewton Castle, Keilor Village

Join us for a unique experience in a privately owned castle

Meet your Sisterhood Tour Hostess and Rosa our pink bus at 12.15pm for our short drive to Overnewton Castle a privately owned property in Keilor Village.  Overnewton is built in the Victorian Tudor style, inspired by 16th century English & Scottish architecture. The Scottish baronial style is characterised by its rough textured masonary, steeped pitched roofs and overhanging battlement corner turrets. The candle snuffer roofs show the influence of the French architecture. The years have been kind to Overnewton, today it remains much then same as when it was originaly built. Hidden away amongst the old trees, it has seen many changes throughout the years. Gone are the days of horse and carriages, gas light and servants, but the old world grace and charm along with the elegance, grandeur and atmosphere of a bygone era still remain. Having been restored over the years and an elegant dining room added to the estate this is definitely a hidden treasure.

Enjoy a lovely high tea relaxing with friends.  Including a selection of delicate pastries, fluffy scones, jam and cream, English tea sandwiches and petite fours with free-flowing Twinning’s Tea and Vittoria Coffee. Afterwards we'll enjoy an historical tour of Overnewton Castle including the gardens before returning back to our drop off point around 4.30pm.

The Tan Track

Our next SWT Walk and Talk will be in the city walking the Tan Track on Saturday 24 May 2025, meeting at 10am.

The Tan Track is mostly flat with one small hill on mixed terrain of paved pathway and gravel, one lap is approximately 4.5km, there are toilets and water along the way.  I will be doing two laps so feel free to join for one lap or both.  We will have a cuppa at the end if the weather is nice

Our next Sisterhood walk will be on Saturday 26 April  along the Mullum Mullum trail.   We will meet at the front of Ringwood railway station on Maroondah Hwy opposite Eastland Shopping Centre at 10.00am.

The walk is along a mainly paved and undulating trail  (with a couple of steep bits) for approximately 10km return.  This is a shared walkway so please be aware there are plenty of cyclists on this route.  There is only one toilet along the way and one tap to top up water also unfortunately no coffee shops on this route (please come prepared with snacks and water).  There are plenty of options for coffee and food at Eastland where our walk will finish.

Join us for our final Walk and Talk for 2024 on the Tan Track.  We will be meeting on the front steps of Flinders St Station at 10am.  The Tan is mostly flat with one small hill, it is mixed terrain of paved pathway and gravel, one lap is approximately 4.5km, there are toilets and water along the way.  Depending on the group there may be an option to do more than one lap.  There are plenty of café options for those wanting to stay on for a cuppa after we finish the walk.

Join us for our September Walk and Talk where we will be walking in the Royal Botanic Gardens Cranbourne, meeting at the garden’s entry gate at 10am.

The walk is mostly flat with mixed terrain of paved pathway and gravel where we will be able to enjoy the gardens award winning landscapes, art and architecture.  We will be walking for approximately 1 – 1.5 hours.  There is a café on site where we can have coffee and snacks after the walk.

For anyone who would like to come by train a pick up/drop off service from the Cranbourne railway station is avaialble free of charge, please confirm if you require pick up at the time of RSVP.

Join us for our August Walk and Talk where we will be walking in the Royal Botanic Gardens Cranbourne, meeting at the garden’s entry gate at 10am.

The walk is mostly flat with mixed terrain of paved pathway and gravel where we will be able to enjoy the gardens award winning landscapes, art and architecture.  We will be walking for approximately 1 – 1.5 hours.  There is a café on site where we can have coffee and snacks after the walk.

Join us for our March Walk and Talk where we will be walking the Merri Creek Trail from the Studley Park Boat House meeting at 10.00 am at the front of the café near the picnic tables.  There is parking at the Boat House parking lot and also on Yarra Blv (off Studley Park Rd).  The closest public transport is Victoria Park Station which is approximately 1km from the meeting point.

We will be walking approximately 15 km return along mainly paved shared (with bikes) walkway as well as dirt and gravel trails, there are some toilets and water along the way. There is a nice café to grab a coffee and food at the turnaround point.

Meet your tour hostess and fellow travellers at the junction of Lonsdale and Spencer Street, Melbourne at 9.30 am for our day trip to the Mornington Racecourse Markets and a delicious lunch at Baramah Park Winery.  A regular meeting place for locals and visitors, the popular Mornington Racecourse Market showcases the best of what the Mornington Peninsula has to offer.  A makers market, where everything sold is handmade, homegrown or Australian-designed.  If you're a bit peckish, enjoy a snack from the many street food vendors but save some room for our lunch.  After our market visit, we'll have time to browse the nearby boutique shops of Main Street Mornington before we head off for lunch at Barmah Park Winery in their beautiful spacious restaurant with panoramic views of the rolling vineyard.  The restaurant's passionate chefs have created a modern Australian menu that showcases both estate-grown and seasonal local produce of the Mornington Peninsula.  At the heart of their approach is a focus on seasonality and flavoured offerings with the optional pairing of wines.  After lunch, we'll return back to Melbourne arriving around 5pm.

Join Rosa and your tour hostess at the T intersection of Spencer and Lonsdale Streets for our day trip to the beautiful Macedon Ranges.  Our first stop will be Edgar's Mission a not for profit animal sanctuary in Lancefield.  Edgar’s Mission has rescued thousands of animals since it began in 2003. Today the sanctuary is home to between 350 and 450 formerly farmed animals at any given time, each with their own unique story. Our tour will be fun and informative, with plenty of opportunities to ask questions. The Mission is not a petting zoo but we'll have the chance to interact with the animal residents. 

After our warm and fuzzy visit to Edgar's, we'll head to the beautiful Forest Glade Gardens in Mount Macedon, a private garden acknowledged as being one of Australia's best.  The garden embraces a mixture of landscaping styles taking inspiration from English, Italian and woodland traditions with four distinct themes.  The large English section with its huge exotic trees, the delightful Japanese section complete with bonsai house, the beautiful woodland area displaying masses of shade-loving plants and the cool fern gully. 

After our visit to Forest Glade we'll travel the short distance to The Wine Collective to enjoy a 2 course lunch in their architecturally designed restaurant with breathtaking panoramic views. 

After our leisurely lunch, we'll head to Riddells Creek to visit historical Dromkeen Gallery, an historical homestead deep in history.  Built-in 1889, Dromkeen was once the country estate of Judge Arthur Chomley and later became home to the world-famous Dromkeen Picture Book Art Collection.  This stately National Trust home has beautiful gardens with a range of Australian native and European plants, a gazebo and two resident peacocks.  Here we'll visit the galleries with time for a coffee and cake in the Dromkeen Tea Room. After our visit, we'll head back to Melbourne returning around 5pm.

Blue Lotus Water Gardens & Lunch at the Home Hotel Launching Place

Join Rosa and your tour hostess for our day trip to the Yarra Valley region including the Blue Lotus Water Gardens, lunch at Home Hotel Launching Place and a visit to the Warratina Lavender farm.  We depart at 9.00am from the T Intersection of Lonsdale and Spencer Street, Melbourne.

The beautiful Blue Lotus Water Gardens spans over 14 acres in size. The tropical-themed gardens contain more than 40 different ponds, lakes and water features which produce the biggest display of lotus and waterlily flowers in the southern hemisphere. The grounds also contain an amazing array of exotic plants, garden exhibits, fountains, waterfalls, floral sculptures, walks and scenic vistas. Highlights include Lotus Lake the largest in the garden holding over 11 million litres of water. It contains over 70 varieties of waterlily flowers creating a carpet of colour across the lake's surface. A feature of the display is the prized collection of Claude Monet’s original waterlilies, which he planted in his garden at Giverny in France. This garden complex has to be seen to be believed.  After our visit, we'll enjoy a leisurely lunch at the nearby Home Hotel, before a visit to Warratina Lavender Farm to enjoy one of their famous lavender scones.  We then head back to Melbourne arriving around 4.30pm.

Today we visit 2 stunning homes, Barwon Park Mansion (classified by the National Trust) and beautiful romantic Campbell Point House, a divine waterfront french inspired luxury chateau.  

Welcome to our day trip to the Bellarine Peninsula to visit Barwon Park Mansion and enjoy a decadent High Tea at the beautiful Campbellpoint House. 

Meet your tour hostess and fellow travellers at the designated meeting point - Lonsdale St near the T intersection of Spencer Street at 10.30am where we'll head towards the beautiful Bellarine Peninsula.  We divert to Barwon Park Mansion, an authentic bluestone mansion and stables set in a sweeping rural landscape.  Embarrassed by having to entertain the visiting Duke of Edinburgh at an undistinguished homestead, pioneer pastoralist Thomas Austin and his wife Elizabeth built this lavish 42 room mansion in 1871. Thomas Austin died just six months after it was completed, but Elizabeth lived at Barwon Park for many years and became a noted philanthropist. The house then passed into the hands of the Batson family who later bequeathed it to the National Trust. Visitors still marvel at the magnificent entrance hall and impressive room.  We will be suitably impressed with the grandeur of this splendid home.  Afer our visit to Barwon Park, we'll head to Leopold to visit and enjoy a decadent High Tea at Campbell Point House, a luxurious waterfront french styled chateau. This is a special treat.  We return back to Melbourne around 5.30pm.  Thanks for joining us!

This creative two-hour workshop is specially designed for beginners and budding florists, as you will learn the basics of flower arranging and be guided by Jemina owner of the Bloomin Marvellous Floral School who is backed by 30 years of experience. During the workshop, you will create your own DIY flower arrangement using fresh seasonal flowers and finish up with a floral masterpiece in a box!
