There is an option to take the Blue Train from Cape Town to Pretoria. The Blue Train is a magnificent moving five-star hotel. As the ever-changing scenery flashes past the windows, guests can savor exquisite meals freshly prepared on board by Executive Chefs and complemented by some of the world’s best wines. Local tipping is customary in Africa.  Sisterhood Womens Travel's tipping system involves passengers contributing to a kitty which is paid to the tour hostess at the beginning of the tour who then distributes it appropriaely to service providers on your behalf. This avoids the need for you to consider individual tipping situations daily throughout your trip. The estimated amount for your tour is AUD200.00 and this will confirmed in your final documentation

Itinerary

Day 1 - Sunday 18 July 2021

Melbourne - Perth - Johannesburg

Welcome to Sisterhood Womens Travel.  Join your Sisterhood Tour Hostess and fellow travellers at Melbourne Airport for our flight to Johannesburg via Perth.  Sit back, relax and enjoy the your airline inflight hospitality.

Upon our evening arrival we’ll be met and transferred to our accommodation to check into our hotel. 

Our hotel is located within the Johannesburg Airport and Casino complex with plenty of eateries, shops and entertainment to enjoy.  

Overnight: Peermont Mondior Emperors Palace (or similar)

Day 2 - Monday 19 July 2021

Johannesburg - Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve (B,L,D)

After breakfast and check out we’ll transfer to the airport for our flight to Skukuza. On arrival we will be met and transferred to the famous game rich area of Sabi Sands, we check into our gorgeous Lodge for our 2 night stay and enjoy a leisurely lunch.

Adjacent to the Kruger National Park, the Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve is a private premier game viewing destination. It was the first-ever private nature reserve established in South Africa. The landscape features 65 000 hectares of savannah-covered land interspersed with watering holes, dry river beds, Lowveld woodlands, and the perennial Sabi and Sand rivers. This spectacular reserve offers exceptional game viewing opportunities with frequent sightings of the renowned Big Five as well as cheetah, zebra, giraffe, and a variety of antelope. 

Later this afternoon we'll enjoy an afternoon safari in open 4WD vehicles returning to the lodge for dinner. 

Overnight: Sabi Sabi Bush Lodge - a luxurious safari escape set in the heart of the Sabi Sabi bushveld overlooking a waterhole and an African plain.

Day 3 - Tuesday 20 July 2021

Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve (B,L,D)

Another full day in this amazing area with all meals and game activities included.  A chance to relax and enjoy the many beautiful facilities of our luxury accommodation including the gorgeous Amani onsite Spa where a range of pampering treatments are on offer.

Day 4 - Wednesday 21 July 2021

Sabi Sand - Chobe National Park (B,D)

After breakfast we transfer to the Airport for our flight to Livingstone, Zambia.

Please have your USD50 ready on arrival for your UniVisa entry into both Zimbabwe & Zambia which will be issued on the spot.  We transfer over the border into Botswana and onto our lodge for the next 2 nights.

This afternoon we head out for a sunset cruise on the Chobe River. We return to our lodge for dinner and overnight stay. 

Overnight: Chobe Bakwena Lodge - Bakwena Lodge is an intimate, privately owned eco-lodge on the banks of the Chobe River. Chobe is well known for its predators and is the home of most of Botswana’s estimated 200,000 elephants. 

Day 5 - Thursday 22 July 2021

Chobe National Park (B,L,D)

Today after breakfast, we'll set off on a morning game drive in Chobe National Park.

Lunch will be enjoyed on board The Raft Floating Restaurant. Situated opposite Sedudu Island, home to lush vegetation, birdlife and herbivorous, The Raft Floating Restaurant is the only floating restaurant in Chobe. Onboard we'll enjoy the eco-friendly floating restaurant with game viewing at its best, while savouring the flavours of a traditional “braai” (barbecue).

We return to the lodge for some leisure time before heading out again later in the afternoon on a Chobe Sunset Cruise. 

Chobe National Park is renowned for its impressive, shifting migratory population of more than 50,000 elephants, Chobe National Park is situated in the far northeast of Botswana, bordered to the north by the mighty Chobe River. It is the second largest national park in Botswana featuring four distinct ecosystems which provides a sanctuary to an astonishing array of African wildlife. In addition to spotting Chobe's great pachyderm herds, we are likely to spot lion, leopard, hyena, wild dog, impala, waterbuck, kudu, zebra, wildebeest giraffe, and warthog.

We return to the Lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6 - Friday 23 July 2021

Chobe National Park - Victoria Falls (B,D)

After an early game drive we'll return to the lodge for breakfast and check out  We'll transfer to Victoria Falls and check in to our new accommodation.

The afternoon is at leisure. Later we'll enjoy a very special dinner on board a steam train which travels over the iconic Victoria Falls Bridge. 

Pure Africa Experiences Steam Train Dinner is a luxurious 5-hour train ride aboard a beautiful classic steam locomotive. The vintage carriages have been restored, and offer old-fashioned elegance with a modern fine dining experience. The train journeys onto the Victoria Falls Bridge - against the majestic backdrop of the Victoria Falls - where the train parks while the sun sets.

Day 7 - Saturday 24 July 2021

Victoria Falls (B,L,D)

This morning after breakfast we'll set off on a morning tour of the Falls.  It is truly an awe-inspiring experience - the sights, the sounds, the smells; the humbling feeling that here indeed is one of Nature's Supreme Masterpieces.  No photograph can begin to depict the reality and nothing will prepare us for our first views of the mighty Falls. A view of the Victoria Falls is something one can never forget. 

Thereafter enjoy some leisure time to explore the town or relax at our hotel.

Later we'll head to a Vulture Culture show and lunch will be served at the lodges' MaKuwa-Kuwa restaurant overlooking the waterhole, offering a unique opportunity to view elephant and other wildlife as we enjoy our meal. 

The rest of our day is at leisure to partake in some of the optional activities that are on offer during our stay including, helicopter flights over the falls, rafting, bungy jumping, etc.  Alternatively, you can take a stroll through Victoria Falls township and try your hand at bartering at one of the many market stalls. 

Tonight we'll be treated to a Boma Dinner, a unique cultural experience with excellent cuisine served under the spectacular African night skies. With entertainment throughout the evening including stories from the Sangoma (Story Teller) a local witchdoctor for fortune telling and plenty of drumming, singing and dancing.  Definitely a night to remember.

Day 8 - Sunday 25 July 2021

Victoria Falls (B,L)

This morning we have leisure time to enjoy the area at our own pace and partake in some of the amazing activities on offer in this region.

At lunchtime we will get together for a special lunch that will be enjoyed at Dusty Road Restaurant. The Dusty Road Township Experience restaurant is situated in the bustling heart of Chinotimba, the largest and oldest township in Victoria Falls. This traditional  Zimbabwean restaurant boasts food cooked on open fires and in cast iron pots and ovens. The welfare of women, female empowerment and the awareness of Zimbabwean culture are of huge importance to the restaurant.

Later we'll transfer to the Zambezi River where we'll board our sunset cruise, including drinks and nibbles. Look out for exciting and exotic birds and wildlife as we meander along a stretch of river that boasts spectacular scenery and diverse wildlife.

Day 9 - Monday 26 July 2021

Victoria Falls - Cape Town (B)

After breakfast we transfer to Victoria Falls Airport for our direct flight to Cape Town. On arrival we'll be met & transferred to our hotel for check in. 

Cape Town - Resting at the confluence of the Indian and Atlantic oceans, situated between the slopes of the iconic Table Mountain and the glistening sapphire waters of Table Bay, the exceptionally scenic city of Cape Town is in a class of its own with its bustling harbour, world-class beaches, top-notch vineyards, and its mountainous surroundings brimming with diverse flora and fauna. 

The remainder of the day and dinner is at leisure. Feel free to get out there and explore!

Day 10 - Tuesday 27 July 2021

Cape Town - Cape Point Full Day Tour (B)

Today after breakfast we will enjoy a full day Cape Point Tour. Starting the tour we head on one of the world’s most spectacular drives towards Hout Bay, Chapman’s Peak, Noordhoek Beach and the Cape Point Nature Reserve. From there we visit two lighthouses on the tip of Africa, Boulders Penguin Colony, Simonstown, Kalk Bay and the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens.

Dinner is at leisure at any one of the many restaurants in the city.

Day 11 - Wednesday 28 July 2021

Cape Town (B,D)

This morning after breakfast we'll head on a half day tour with a visit to the famous Table Mountain.  The cableway offers 360 degree views and we'll be rewarded with more stunning views from the top. On a clear day from the summit of Table Mountain you get spectacular views of the City, its Waterfront, Camps Bay, the majestic Hottentots Holland Mountains to the East and the mountains of the Cape Peninsula all the way down to Cape Point to the south.

Later we'll continue our day with a visit to the picturesque winelands visiting South Africa’s most famous wine regions – Paarl, Franschoek and Stellenbosch.  Aside from the excellent wines the area is renowned for its food and is steeped in history such as the Taal monument, various museums and the contribution of the French Huguenots. We'll renjoy wine tastings as well.

Tonight we have an early farewell dinner in this beautiful region. A wonderful way to end our African adventure before transferring back to our hotel.

Day 12 - Thursday 29 July 2021

Cape Town - Perth (B, Inflight meals)

After breakfast we'll transfer to Cape Town Airport and check in for our flight to Perth Via Johannesburg. 

Sit back, relax and enjoy the inflight entertainment of our airline as we head towards home.

Day 13 - Friday 30 July 2021

Welcome Home Melbourne

Arriving in Perth around lunchtime we clear customs before connecting on to our flight back to Melbourne.

Welcome Home to Melbourne.  We'll arrive home around 7.30pm.
