Itinerary

Day 1 - Thursday 29 October 2020

Melbourne - Adelaide

Welcome to Sisterhood Womens Travel.  Meet your Tour Hostess and fellow travellers at the Melbourne Aiport for your flight to Adelaide.  Upon arrival we are transferd to our central Adelaide hotel.  Later in the afternoon we will enjoy an Adelaide city highlights tour where we will experience the cosmopolitan city of Adelaide takiing in its main attractions and points of interest. Followed by a scenic cruise down the River Torrens on one of Adelaide's iconic 'Popeye' cruises.

Day 2 - Friday 30 October 2020

Hahndorf and Adelaide Hills (B)

A free morning to discover the city at yoour own pace.  Later we will depart our hotel  hotel for an afternoon tour of the Adelaide Hills. Drive along North Terrace, Adelaide’s cultural precinct, on the way to Mount Lofty Summit, Adelaide’s highest peak. Take in the spectacular views of the city and the coastline – a perfect photo opportunity. Wind your way through the Adelaide Hills villages of Crafers, Stirling, Aldgate and Bridgewater before arriving at the Beerenberg Farm Shop, where there is time to taste and purchase from their full range of products. Then it’s on to Hahndorf, Australia’s oldest German settlement. Spend the afternoon exploring the main street of Hahndorf where we can sample local produce, check out the local arts and crafts before enjoying afternoon tea or a traditional German beer tasting at the very popular Hahndorf Inn.

Day 3 - Saturday 31 October 2020

Barossa Valley (B, L)

This morning we will enjoy a full day tour to the Barossa Valley.  Our first stop is Pindarie, a multi-tourism award winning cellar door, which feels more like an Australian Homestead than a cellar door. The friendly staff share their stories behind the wines as we sample their famous blends in the heritage stables. Sit back and admire their stunning vineyard views while we enjoy some morning tea. The next stop is a visit to Maggie Beer’s Farm Shop, an absolute must whilst visiting the Barossa. Maggie Beer – cook, writer and founder of ‘Maggie Beer Products’, offers tastings and sales of her full product range including limited edition seasonal produce. Here you can browse amongst her personally selected regional specialty goods, purchase one of her signed books or simply sit back and take in the view. Later on arrival at Lambert Estate at Angaston, we will enjoy a structured wine tasting whilst sampling local seasonal produce from gourmet platters. Main course follows, and is a feast for the senses, with two signature dishes, salad and vegetables. Leaving Lambert Estate, travel to Mengler Hill Lookout for sweeping views over the valley and then onto the Barossa Valley Chocolate Company our final stop for the day. Here we will taste house made chocolates paired with Vineyard Road’s handcrafted wines which will be a great way to finish off our Barossa Food and Wine Experience.

Day 4 - Sunday 01 November 2020

Victor Harbor and McLaren Vale (B)

Today we will enjoy a delightful tour of South Australia’s premier tourist region, the Fleurieu Peninsula. Our tour begins with a picturesque coach ride through the Adelaide Hills to the historical Scottish settlement of Strathalbyn. Here we will stop for some free time and morning tea in High Street (own expense). Continue on to the paddle steamer town of Goolwa where we will have a brief tour of the town including the wharf, barrage and beach. On our way to Victor Harbor cruise past the charming coastal town of Port Elliot including Horseshoe Bay and stop at Whale Lookout for a photo opportunity. Upon arrival at Victor Harbor, wander through the main street, sampling the fresh local product, perhaps indulge in some fish and chips on the foreshore (own expense). . Our tour then continues to the wine making region of McLaren Vale, best known for producing outstanding Shiraz. Wander the main street, sample the fresh local produce including the delicious cheeses at Blessed Cheese, taste some of the fine wines or grab a coffee at one of the many cafés. From here take a scenic drive through South Australia’s southern metropolitan beaches of Port Noarlunga and Moana before returning to Adelaide.

Day 5 - Monday 02 November 2020

Adelaide - Melbourne (B)

This morning we have a chance for some last minute shopping or sightseeing  before transferring to the  Airport to check in for our homeward flight to Melbourne arriving in late afternoon.  Thank you for travelling with Sisterhood Womens Travel and we look forward to welcoming you back for your next adventure.
