Day 1 - Saturday 4 June 2022

Melbourne - Darwin (D)

Welcome to Sisterhood Womens Travel.  Meet your Tour Hostess and fellow travellers at the Melbourne Airport for your flight to Darwin.  Upon arrival we are transferd to our central Darwin hotel with the remainder of the day at leisure.

Later this afternoon, we will regroup for a Sunset Dinner Cruise on the Darwin Harbour.  Enjoy the cool breeze as we take in the sights and enjoy the amazing top end sunset.

Day 2 - Sunday 5 June 2022

Darwin (B)

This morning we will take a Darwin City Sights tour visiting the Darwin Aviation Museum where we will learn about Darwin’s aviation history. View the B-52 Bomber on permanent loan from the United States Air Force, among 19 aircraft on display and view some rare amateur footage of this and original footage from Japanese archives. Moving on to the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory where we have time to explore the gallery. Lastl,y we visit the Darwin Botanic Gardens where we will learn about the garden's natural and cultural history. One of the few botanic gardens in the world that has marine and estuarine plants naturally in its grounds.

Later in the afternoon we will enjoy a visit to the famous Mindil Beach Sunset Market (transport not included), with over 200 unique stalls including 60 food stalls, the market is a cultural melting pot of food, arts and culture.

Day 3 - Monday 6 June 2022

Darwin (B)

Enjoy the morning at leisure.

This afternoon we will join the famous Jumping Crocs and Nature Adventure Tour.  We will be tansferred by airconditioned coach to the Adelaide River enjoying a cruise where we will be educated on crocodile biology, territorial habits, and their value to the eco system. The onboard wildlife guide will offer the crocs a taste of buffalo meat in return for them swimming out to say hello and show their incredible hunting techniques. We will also enjoy views across the Fogg Dam Conservation Reserve and its amazing array of bird life. Returning back to the city in the early evening.

Day 4 - Tuesday 7 June 2022

Darwin - Kakadu National Park (B,L)

An early departure from Darwin, we travel through pristine wetland regions to Kakadu National Park. Visit the Warradjan Cultural Centre, then join your local guide on a cruise to experience the dramatic scenery of the Yellow Water Billabong. Keep an eye out for saltwater crocodiles, an array of smaller wildlife, and the colourful range of birdlife for which this region is renowned. Stop at Nourlangie, where our Driver Guide will lead you on a walk to view the rock art galleries.

Day 5 - Wednesday 8 June 2022

Kakadu National Park - Darwin (L)

This morning join our Driver Guide to explore the World Heritage Area of Ubirr, where we'll climb up through the ancient Aboriginal rock art galleries, believed to be 20,000 years old, to the lookout for a view over the surrounding wetlands. Join the Guluyambi Cruise on the East Alligator River. An Aboriginal guide will provide an insight into their culture including local mythology, the river’s abundant food chain, as well as bush survival skills. With special permission of the local people, we can go ashore in Arnhem Land. Visit the Marrawuddi Art Gallery before returning to Darwin.

Day 6 - Thursday 9 June 2022

Darwin - Tiwi Islands - Darwin

Today we take the 2½ hour cruise to Bathurst Island. We'll be met by our local guide for a journey through the progressive, modern day Aboriginal community of Wurrumiyanga. Visit the Museum and Early Mission Precinct. Spend time with some Tiwi ladies, while they work on their weaving and painting. They will demonstrate their totem dances and perform a smoking ceremony to bless the visitors. We’ll sample billy tea and damper with our lunch. Visit the Art & Crafts Centers, where we can purchase art and crafts at island prices. Transfer to the ferry departing the island at 3.15pm for Darwin.

Day 7 - Friday 10 June 2022

Darwin (B)

A free day for shopping or further sightseeing before transferring to the airport in the evening.

Day 8 - Saturday 11 June 2022

Darwin Home

Depart Darwin at 12.30am for an arrival into Melbourne at approximately 5.00am
