** Local tipping is customary in Canada.  Sisterhood Womens Travel's tipping system on this particular tour involves passengers contributing to a kitty which is paid to the tour hostess at the beginning of the tour, who will then distribute it to service providers on your behalf. This avoids the need for you to consider individual tipping situations daily throughout your trip. The estimated amount of tips for your tour is CAD100 (Approx AUD110) and this will be confirmed in your final documentation.  For our New York portion tipping is your responsibility and therefore not included in the CAD amount.


A minimum level of fitness is required to be able to participate. As a minimum you will need to be able to walk 2km on uneven ground, carry your own luggage and walk up a few flights of stairs.

Melbourne - Vancouver - Toronto (WD)

Welcome to Sisterhood Womens Travel!  Meet your Sisterhood Tour Hostess and fellow travellers at Melbourne Airport for our flight to Toronto via Vancouver.  Sit back, relax and enjoy the inflight entertainment as we head towards Canada.  Upon arrival into Toronto we'll be transferred to our hotel.

Day 2 - Monday 14 September 2020

Toronto (B)

This morning we'll enjoy a half day City Tour of Toronto.  See the sights of Canada’s largest and most diverse city. Highlights include the CN Tower (LookOut Level), harbour front, downtown entertainment and financial district, City Hall, Ontario Legislature, University of Toronto, Eaton Centre, Bloor-Yorkville shopping district and the Lawrence Market.

The remainder of the day is at leisure to explore.  Dinner at leisure.

Day 3 - Tuesday 15 September 2020

Toronto - Niagara Falls (B)

This morning we'll depart for Niagara Falls. First stop is the picturesque town of Niagara-on-the-Lake on the shoreline of Lake Ontario. After a walk on the shore we'll travel on the scenic Niagara Parkway alongside the gorge to Niagara Falls. Upon arrival in Niagara Falls, we'll meet our local guide and enjoy an orientation tour of the town.  Dinner at leisure.

Day 4 - Wednesday 16 September 2020

Niagara Falls (B)

After breakfast we'll enjoy a thrilling ride on the Hornblower Niagara Cruise and the Niagara Falls Sky Wheel. The remainder of the day is at leisure to explore.

Day 5 - Thursday 17 September 2020

Niagara Falls - Charlottetown (B)

Today we farewell Niagara Falls and fly to Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, with a transfer to our accommodation. Remainder of the day at leisure.

Day 6 - Friday 18 September 2020

Charlottetown (B)

This morning is free to explore Charlottetown before spending the afternoon touring the scenic north shore of the island.  Drive by red cliffs, white beaches, gently sloping sand dunes and green fields of Prince Edward Island National Park. We'll also visit Anne of Green Gables Heritage Place, the alluring inspiration of Lucy Maud Montgomery’s classic books.

Day 7 - Saturday 19 September 2020

Charlottetown - Baddeck (B)

Wake up, enjoy breakfast and then we'll ferry over the Northumberland Strait back to Nova Scotia and proceed to Cape Breton Island, the Scotland of North America, via the Canso Causeway.  We'll visit Alexander Graham Bell National Historic Site in Baddeck to learn about the many accomplishments this genius made from his home on the island.

Day 8 - Sunday 20 September 2020

Cabot Trail Touring (B)

Today we'll experience one of the most stunningly picturesque drives in North America as we tour the Cabot Trail which winds around the rocky splendour of Cape Breton’s northern shore, ascending to the incredible plateaus of Cape Breton Highlands National Park.  Look-outs offer unforgettable vistas of Cape Breton’s rugged coastline so be sure to have your camera on hand.

Day 9 - Monday 21 September 2020

Baddeck - Cape Breton Island - Halifax (B)

The Fortress of Louisbourg National Historic Site awaits today and words cannot do justice to this reconstruction depicting one fifth of the settlement of 1744 New France.  Roam the streets and chat with authentically costumed guides. Proceed along the shore of the Bras d’Or Lake to the mainland and on to Halifax for an afternoon city tour including the Public Gardens.  Halifax is one of the most remarkably preserved colonial settlements in the New World.

Day 10 - Tuesday 22 September 2020

South Shore Touring (B)

Today we'll travel the rugged south shore of Nova Scotia to world famous Peggy’s Cove.  This graceful lighthouse sits high upon the smooth wave-worn granite of the coast.  We'll see picturesque Mahone Bay with the line of 3 elegant churches gracing the sheltered harbour. Then we continue on to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Lunenburg, one of Nova Scotia’s most historic and beautiful towns and home of the Bluenose II, a replica of the famous fishing schooner. Visit the Fisheries Museum of the Atlantic to learn about the town’s famous seafaring heritage.

Day 11 - Wednesday 23 September 2020

Halifax - Digby (B)

After a sumptuous breakfast we depart Halifax for the lush Annapolis Valley and learn about the French Acadians who established their first settlement in the early 1600’s at Grand Pre, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.  Learn about the facts and fiction that blend to reveal the romance of the Land of Evangeline.  Visit a local winery for a tour and tasting then continue to Annapolis Royal to see the Historic Gardens.  Travel to Digby, the scallop capital of the world, where the fresh sea air and passionate Acadian culture combine to form an enchanting and historically rich town.

Day 12 - Thursday 24 September 2020

Digby - Halifax (B)

Today we'll visit Bear River, less than 20 minutes from Digby. The river itself rises and falls about 25 feet twice a day, thanks to the tides of the Bay of Fundy. This town on stilts has centuries old colourful buildings and attracts all sorts of artists and craftspeople.  We'll then stop at Hall’s Harbour for a unique and informative tour of the Lobster Pound en-route to Halifax.

Day 13 - Friday 25 September 2020

Halifax (B,D)

Today’s sightseeing tour allows us to delve deeper into the history of Halifax and to experience the city through the eyes of a local. Our tour includes the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic, Citadel Hills and Fisherman’s Cove. This evening we'll step aboard the Harbour Queen I for a unique and unforgettable dining experience. Enjoy a delicious buffet dinner and then a two-hour cruise along the beautiful and picturesque Halifax harbourside.  There will be light commentary on points of interest along the way. The Harbour Queen is equipped with a fully licensed bar (additional expense).

Day 14 - Saturday 26 September 2020

Halifax - New York City (B)

Today we fly to New York to begin our 4 day stay in the Big Apple.  Amazing New York City is full of iconic architectural landmarks, cultural venues and stunning views. With our 3 Day New York Pass we'll have the opportunity to see so much of the city.  Whether you want to see chic Manhattan, culturally diverse Brooklyn or the birthplace of rap and hip hop in the Bronx, New York has it all. Why not visit the top of the Empire State building and admire the great city panorama and iconic skyline.  New York’s busy Times Square is the world's most visited tourist attraction and never fails to mesmerise with its impressive neon lights. Nearby Central Park attracts joggers, walkers and picnickers all year around who want a little break from NYC’s frenetic pace. The restaurants here are among the best in the world but be sure you try the city’s famous hot dogs too. Each night there is the option to regroup for dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 15 - Sunday 27 September 2020

New York (B)

A free day to explore New York.  Why not take a bike ride through Central Park?  How about a New York TV and Movie Sites Walking Tour? And there are plenty of famous and not so famous museums to visit.  Use your New York City Pass and explore.

Day 16 - Monday 28 September 2020

New York (B)

Another free day.  There are plenty of activities which don't involve a cost! Or use your New York City Pass to continue exploring.  Shopping is huge in New York and there are plenty of shops to discover.  Take a walk down famous Fifth Avenue, people watch on Times Square or take in a Broadway Show.

Tonight we'll celebrate our last night in New York with dinner at a local restaurant.

New York - Home (B)

A free morning at leisure before checking out to begin our journey home.  Sit back, relax and enjoy the inflight entertainment as we head homewards to Melbourne.
